INQUIRY HELD AT KOWLOON MAGISTRACY.

Laichikok Pri- son, produced the records of the deceased, and said he was admitted to Victorla Gaol on November 25, having been sentenced to three months for stealing. He was transferred to Laichikok Prison on November 30. He was 30 years of uge and his gaol record was good.

On the morning of December 12, witness was told by Dr. Court that a prisoner was lying in the Prison Hospital in a serious condition, and ordered his removal to the Kow- toun Hospital. Deceased had

pro- viously complained of constipation and was admitted to the Prison Hospital at 1.85 n.m. on December 12, apparently suffering from cont- stipation.

In a statement made to witness, decensed alleged that at nhout 8 p.m. on December 11, he was 'Da saulted by another prisoner. Lam Foo, who, however, denied having struck deceased.

Niamatullah, an Indian warder, deposed that he went on duty at the Prison Hospital ward at about. 6.30 am. on December 12, and saw deceased in bed. Deceased com- plained of a paint in the stomach, but did not seem to be in, great pain. Dr. Court arrived just-after 10 a.m. and, after examining him, ordered his removal to Kowloon Hospital.

The inquiry was adjourned.
