CHALLENGE FROM THE

BABIES.

[By Kirksione.)

Some months ago everybody in the motorcycle Industry

could apenk of nothing but the "every- man" machine, the mount that should be designed no that it would replace the pedni eyele in the minds of those who had to have cheap. cffelent and reliable transport to go to the office and factory, or do short business runs throughout the day..

Then there was a lull and little more was heard, but though there has been this silence. It is almost nssured now that we shall see n great many examples of this nimble transport at Olympia in December when the motorcycle show is held.

The baby car owner has tha laugh over the big car man in traffic in the ease with which he can do an expeditions journey without undue speeding, but the man or youth on a moter-cycle has the laugh of both.

An Interesting Baby,

One of the most interesting of these little fellows to be seen at Olympia will be the 1% h.p. O.K. Supreme. It is a four stroke engine, and in that respect bronka way from the almost universal two-stroke power units for thesa mounts, and further it carries only 19. a year tax.

I do not know its riding qualities. but it would he strange if they were not good, for the firm hava shown that they know how to build safe, reliable motor-cycles, with an efficient road performance.

A side valve engine, the cylinder head is detachable, the main bear- ing and big end are of the roller type, and lubrication is mechanical, It has coll ignition. The frame if duplex and a three-speed gearbox in tted. The saddle fank holds near- ly 1 gallous.

Spring Frames.

It is understood that there will be two or three other examples of apring frames besides the New Imperial. As I hinted very early in the year, the New Imperials will
