Whilst the annual report was satisfactory in every way, he had a sad duty to perform, and that was to recall the death of one of their most enthusiastic members, Mr. J. J. Hizat. Mr. Nightingale re- marked that it' was not necessary for him to enumerate the late Mr. Hirst's many sterling qualities, but one in which he was pre-eminent was his manliness. The speaker then asked those present to stand for a minute in allence as a token of respect for their late member.
