This is how the Hankow Racecourse looked a few weeks ago ni result of the disastrous finude in and around the city. Latest reporta state that the water has reached the level of the grandstand roof.

Sampant are in great demand an the flooded streets in Hankow, being the chief means of conveyance. On right, ie the entrance to the Hankow Club. The water has since rison above the wall.
