ROUND THE WORLD BY AIR.

AMERICAN COUPLE LAND AT CALCUTTA,

Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Day who are flying round the world ou a pleasure trip, recently landed at the Dum Dum Aerodrome. Their

aeroplane was shipped, from New York to London from where Mr. and Mrs. Day started.

Leaving London on May 31 they visited Paris, Brussels, Berlin, Frankfort, Cologne, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Belgrade, Bucharest, Constantinople, Konal. Aleppo, Jerusalem, Baghdad, Basra, Bushire, Jask, Charbar, Gwadar, Karachi, Jodhpore, Agra, Allahabad and Gaya, haliing at each place for periods varying from twenty-four hours to three or four days.

So far, about 0.000 miles have been covered and the travelling lis been fairly good. After leaving Budapeat the petrol tank burai, Mr. Day turned the aeroplane round and managed, though drenched with peirol, to get back to Budapest where the lank, was repaired and p start effected the next day. Flying over the desert was found to be very trying as the heat affected the motor.
