L. ROZA PEREIRA WINS TRIAL SWIM.

In connexion with the Interport swimming trials, the 880 yards reco was swum yesterday evening at the V.I.C., those participating being L. | Roza Pereira, Š. V. Gitfins and E. B.

da Roza.

The first-named led for most of the distance, with Gittios second and da Roza third. Roza Pereira was swimming strongly and finished over two longths ahend of Gittins, da Roza having dropped out meantime.

The winner's time was 12 mina,, 16 1/5 sec, which is 19 1/6 arconds more than the record for the V.R.C. bath.

Roza Pereira's performance yes- terday evening augurs well for (longkong in this particular event, but this verantile swimmer will cer tainly be required for more than one
