FLYING CLUB'S FUTURE.
GOVERNMENT NOT TO INCREASE SUBSIDY.
After struggling gallantly along against tremendous obstacles, the biggest being the fall in the value of the toen dollar, for nearly two years, striving hard to justify its existence nad recently succeeding to-a-very-great extent, the Flying Club is threatened with extinction.,
Fateful words spoken by Hon. Commander G. F. Hole, RN. (retired) at the Flying Club's annual meeting yesterday, may
nigan this courageous effort going
by the board and the Club closing down.
Commander Hole said that, on behalf of the Government, he regretted to announce to the Club that there would be no increase of the annual subsidy, which means that any help from this direction to allow the Club to double its income in order to keep golu, an advised by the hon, treasurer (Mr. A. Richie) cannot now be anti- elpated.
Committee members remained behind after the annual meeting to discuss the position in vlow of the Government's decision, and the Chairman announced if it became necessary he would later convene an extraordinary general meeting to consider the future of the Club.
The following five ordinary men- bers were re-elected to the General Committee: Messra.. C. D. Lum- bert, R. Foster, A. J. R. Moss, J. Choa, and Lieut. Col L. G. Bird, D.3.0. Mr. Wong Kwong-tin having resigned through pressure of work, it was agreed that kis place should be taken by Mr. R. Lec.
Dr. F. J. Farr was re-elected Captain of the Club, and Mr. M. H. Turner was reelected auditor, with power delegated to him to obtain the servicen of another auditor, with whom he could arrange to help with the work.
