SOME NEW FEATURES IN SUMMER NUMBER.

The Summer Number of "The Yellow Dragon" is to hund. It is an unusually interesting publication of 120 pages, a large part of which is devoted to school and other sports, and athletica. It contains, moreover, four whole page half-tone illustrations, the first being a portrait of Mr. Lo Choung-shui, the President of the Queen's College Old Boys' Association, and the Lothers the Inter-class volley ball Anal, the finish of the inter-school 440, and the Matriculation Volley ball team.

Among the School Notes Is one regarding the offer of the manager of the King's Dispensary to instal! at the Queen's College a First Aid Box, in view of goveral miner oc- cidents that, have occurred on the school premises during the past fow months.

A new feature of the Summer Number is the Topical Section of interesting and informative current newe. Another School Noto re- gårds Dr. Bateson Wright, the first Head of Queon's College, who re tired many years ago. In a letter to the Director of Education he says that he is still keenly interest- ed in the welfare of the College. He is 79 years of age, walks threa miles a day and interests himself in chess' and trigonometry.

In a test taken throughout the school half way through the term usual number of "howlers" were produced, of which the follow- ing are recorded:

CIGAR FIRM SUED.

FALSE TRADE DESCRIPTION ON CIGARS.

When the hearing of the two sum- monade against the Grent Eastern Tobacco Company, of Shanghai Street, for having applied to cigars e false trade description, and having posesion of cigars to which a false trade, description was applied, came up before Mr. Hamilton, at the Kow loon Magistracy yesterday afternoon, Mr. Leo D'Almada (jnr.), instructed by Mr. M. A, da Silva, appearing for the defence, admitted the offences, and remarked that the word "Manila" in the trade mark indiented that the efgars were made of Manfin leaf, and not that they had been imported from Manila,

The defendant also undertook to have the words "manufactured in Hongkong" printed beneath the trade mark.

A fine of $10 on ench summons was, Iniposed.

Mr. D. L. Blake appeared on be-1 half of the complainants, the Tabaqueria Filipina.
