The Association was started in 1917 with but 165 members, and with a membership fee of $826. Since then the increase, both in membership and subscription, has been extremely en- couraging, and this year we have at tained the unprecedented record of having some 6,000 members and a The membership fee of $0.300. Association's activities embrace athleties of practically all Jnds. But its chief interest ned concern is. and must be, Football.

Whilst we can take legitimate pride in the prowess of our players, we must never forget the deep debt of gratitude which is due, not only by our players but by Chinese footballers in genera, to our English friends who might fly be called the pioneers of the game in the Colony, and who, from the Ume when the Chinese first took Football, gave freely and un-

The abiding interest in Football is due to the fact that it is a manly game requiring the combination, in the highest degree, both of physical en- durance and of kiti.
