WARSHIP.
TIGER ON WAY TO SCRAPYARD.
The Atlantic Fleat arrived in home waters recently. It was the ILM.S. Tiger, the Just trip of famous Jutland warship, which has gone to Devonport to pay off, preparatory to being broken up under the Washington Conven- tion.
The Tiger
was commissioned two months after the outbreak of war, and she received her baptism of fire in the Dagger Bank fight in January, 1910, when she torpeded German warship and sank the Blucher.
She was again at Jutland in the great battle on May 31, 1916. The Tiger is the last of Admiral Bratty's Squadron that fought in that engagement,
The battleship led the Atlantic Fleet out of Gibraltar on the re- turn, after taking part in the an- nual naval
manoeuvres. Before salling she had been stripped of all presentation plate, which was Ports- packed for shipment to mouth.
As soon as the Bay of Biscay had been crossed, H.M.S. Nelson, the flagship of the Commander-in- Chief, Sir Michael Hodges, gave a signal, and the Tiger, which had brought up the rear of the battle cruisers from the Mediterranean, majestienlly passed down the long Inne of ships.
In each ship the order had been given to clear the lower decks, and cvery man rushed up above to cheer the great warship as she Full Particulars from catalogue) | departed for home, while the bands On view from Friday, the 1st May, or the Royal Marinca played
