H.M.S. SANDWICH BEAT H.M.S. PETERSFIELD.

In a cricket match played at King's Park on Saturday, 1M.S. Sandwich easily disposed of ILM.S. Petersfield.

Batting first, the Sandwich scored 179, IL Medley 40, Sign. Carns 36 and Lt. Fox 21, being the chlof scorers. Smith with two wickets for four runs and Crawford, four for 37. took the bowling honours. The Peters- field had a rather sorry time, for they found Commdr. Bayly unplayablo, taking alght wickets for 22 runs,

The Machine Gun Troop held their point to point for the Dowbiggin Trophy on Saturday last over the Potts course. A handicap, taking into account a rider's weight, riding capability, and mount, resulted in one rider being dispatched one and a half minutes ahond of the next group of five who, in turn, were half a minute ahead of the next group, leaving one man to start half a minute behind thom. The handicapping proved cor- roct the whole held finishing in a body except for the first two who were well in front of the others. Tpr. Mossop, who started with the third group, run won by n distance and Tpr. James, who started with the second group, was many lengths ahead of the re- mainder, who all cune along in a bunch. The Troop rode in uniform and used G. S. saddlery, coming out on the 1.18 train frum Kowloon. They marched to their stables on arA. R. May, b Crawford rival at Fanling where they enddled Sigl. Carn, & Doyle

and then roda over to the point to-point course,

Practically the whole scoring was done by Li Murdy 56, and Lt. Cobb 17. The Petersfielt were all out for 87 runs, the Sandwich winning by 82

At the conclusion of the race, the Troop and spectators, of whom there were a good many, were entertained by Mr. Peter Potts, at his bungalow, where thirats were quenched, after which the Troop marched back to their stables and, having watered and fed the ponies, repaired to the Hunters Arms. Some forty sat down to dinner and did justice to a menu of which Mine Host must have been
