POST GRADUATE. STUDIES.
DEPLORABLE ATTITUDE OF
LOCAL HOSPITALS.
The very unsatisfactory condi. tions which provail in the Colony. as regards post graduate studies were emphasized by Dr. Li Shu- pul-and Dr. W. 1. Gerrard at the University yesterday evening when the formor delivered an interesting. lecture to members of the medical noclety on "Post Graduate Studies Abroad."
Speaking on what he considored important and essential facts, Dr. Li prefaced his lecture with a re- mark, that a Chinese Journal in an article which he had read, declared that medical graduates of the University of Hongkong were either ships surgeons or general practitioners. To a certain extent It could not be denied that that statement" was trup. There was practically RO opening to graduate of the local University but the lecturer hoped that the day would come when financial support would be firmer and graduates be encouraged to stay for further studies in various departments of medical science.
