Nanking, Mar, 2. Mr. Sun Fo, the Minister of Railways, opened the National Railway Transportation Conference this morning, which will discuss and decide upon measures for im- provement of commercial trans portation on Government Railways.

Mr. Sun Fo said, inter alia, that various railways wero on the vorge of bankruptcy, the total obligations amounting to more than $1,000,000,- 000.-Router.

The cost of construction Is estimated at $13,000,000 of which $6,000,000 will be appropriated from the Boxer Indemnity Refund. while the balance is to be raised from the people. The total length of the bridges will be about 12,000 feet.
