The Navy opened strongly and Penny cleared: Louden got through the Navy defence but handled. The Army forced a corner which was fruitless. From a pass by Tigwell, Peacock tested Penny. End to and Day was the order, the Navy having the better of the exchanges in mid- both field. Shooting was wild on
sides. The Army left sent over a dropping shot and the ball landed on the bar and bounced out of play, Sansam sent over from the Hus and Louden headed Into Aitken's hands.
The Navy then found the mark bet- ter but Punny was good in goal and stopped shots from Peacock, Skinner and Rush in quick succession. The Brst lalf was blank..

The Navy wore down the Army attack and transferred, Dickinson go- ing clund with a fast ground shot. Penny did well to stop a drive from Peacock from the penalty line. Wylle after rounding Ward and with an open goal, cleared the bar with a terrlic shot. Tilley sent in and Tigwell shot from six yards but Peany charged down the shot, the ball rebounding for a corner.
Penny fisted out a shot from Skin- ner, but before ho could
recover Dickinson returned with A fast grounder and the ball entered Ure not with Penny making frantle effort to turn it out. It was a good goal for Dickluson, but the Army were un- lucky in losing the game practically in the last minute.
Mr. H. Sato briefly responded Morey, and spoke of the valuable practice he afternoon's tennis had afforded them.
