BRITAIN'S FUTURE ON THE SEA.

NAVAL DISAIMANENT MÁY BE OVERDONE.

London, Feb. 9. The First Lord of the Admiralty, Mr. Alexander, in a speech at Newcastle, discussed Britain's at- 'titude to the naval work of the

future.

Colour Card for

the Season.

Striking catour-harmonies are pro- sent in the mode. The idon of com- hining three colours in a single costume is growing Tho; tricolor combination of red, blue, and white in still pleasing. Other three-colour combinations, such as rod, yellow, and black, or grey, pink, and light blue, or brown, orange, and buige. have been voted already.

There are also a

All these colours have the virtue of combining well with each othur. so that any group of women droseed in the enlours of the new senson will prenent a beautiful colour-harmony. and no woman's dress will "kill" the next woman's dress.

A Useful Frock.

Stone-grey silk marocain is the fabric suggested for this useful dress, which illustrates the new horizontal tucked line from shoulders to hip with a belt at the natural waist. The single flounce on the skirt, fall- ing in a cascade down one side, is another interesting feature.

Dainty Cape Ensemble in Moire..
