The illumina- ted pellet travels that range. more or less, in the middle of the cone of pellets. Hence the atar: pellet has traced out the trajec- tory of the charge.

The use of this tracer pollet in actual game shooting is, of course, not to be suggested. In shooting achools and with clay birds, it may be really useful.
