CHARCES AGAINST HONG- KONG INTERPRETER FAIL The finding of a special tribunal that Leung Tan-sheung, who was n necond class interpreter in the Hongkong Government Service,! should be dismissed from the servire, nending the approval of the Secretary of Stato, for alleged ly demanding money from appli- cants for prostitute leences, has been over-ruled by the Secretary of State, who has upheld the accus- ed man's subsequent appeal.

We are informed that thro charges were preferred against Leung Tup-heung, all relating to the same matter. The decision of the Tribunal, which was delivered In February, 1930, was based on the their having found two of

proved. They ordered that he should be suspend ed and, if the Secretary of State approved of the verdict, dismissed from the service.

The accused man subsequently appealed to the Secretary of State by petition, under the Colonial Regulations,
