THE HONGKONG TELEGRAPH. SATURDAY, DECEMBER 27, 1930.

OBITUARY.

FORMER MEDICAL OFFICER

OF HONGKONG.

Mrs. D. Annabella Murdoch Gale, M.D., has died at Stuston, near Diss. The daughter of Dr. Clark, a former city analyst of Glasgow, she gained scholarship

Cam-1 to bridge in Biology, and took the M.D. and B.Sc. degrees at Glasgow, During the war she was Medical

of Health in Hongkong, her husband was Assistant Director of Public Works, and after- warda practised at Macclesfield.

During the past few years she had been engaged at children's welfare centres in North Lambeth and at Carshalton. For some months she had been occupied with special re- search work on blood pressure, and the results of her studies will short- ly be

published.

In August, 1928, her son, Mr. R. C. C. Gale, of the Air Force Re- serve of Officers, crashed in an aeroplane and sustained serious in- jurles. Mrs. Gale at once gave up all her medical duties to devote her time to the care of her son, and Mr. Gale recovered sufficiently to resume Atudies at Cambridge. Last his Janunry the sports car in which he was travelling to London collided with a motor-forry, and his injuries resulted in his death. The effect of this second accident undermined Mrs. Gale'a health.
