CHIEF INSPECTOR C. F. ARIS ALLEGÉD ASSAILANT OF MR.

In

A highly respected and popular officer of the Hongkong Police Force is retiring shortly in the person of Chief Inspector Charles Frederick Aris, who is leaving for Home on board the a.. Kalyan on December 20, after over thirty years' service in the local Force.

It was on September 12, 19on, that Chief Inspector Aris first received his appointment to the Colony as a Police Constable. those days promotions were few and far between and his next step took him nine years to gain in with the present comparison perlod of only about six months. After being made Lance Sergeant in December 1909, he was given the rank of Sergeant three years later and in 1921 he was promoted an Inspector.
