Madame and Marshal Chiang Kai-shek, in the company of Mr. H. H. Kung. Minister of Industry and Commerce, returned to the city from Feng Hwa by gunboat morning. The Nanking oficial party was entertained at the residence of Mr. H. H. Kunz in the evening, and Marshal Chiang accompanied by Messrs. Tai Chi-tao, Li Shib-tseng, Chang Ching-kiang, Chan Ming-shu. C. T. Wang and Admiral Chan Chak of Canton, left for Nanking by special train shortly before mid-j night.

General Chang Hsueh-liang was entertained at an official banquet last evening by the Chilli Provin- cial Government at Tientsin. In the course of a speech he said that the Manchurian expedition to Tientsin, which forced the retire ment of Marshals Yen Hsi-shan and Fenz Yu-bsiang, was carried out with the sole aim of restoring peace in China.
