She emphasised the need of economic reform, in connexion with which sincero co-operation with other nations, and the cultivation of better international relations were necessary.
The normal increase of revenue would shortly be impossible while the normal increase of expendi- ture was continuing, consequently strict economy was necessary.

The disastrous fire at the King Edward Hotel in the early morn- ing of March 11, last year, recalled by a local application for administration of the estate of the late Mr. Douglas `James Robson, whose estate in Hong- kong amounts to $1,200, net per- sonalty at Home being £1,360 6s. It will be re-called that Mr.
Robson was one of those who lost their lives in the conflagration.
