The plight of the inhabitants of Nanning, on the West River, which is in the hands of rebel Kwangsi troops and which for weeks. past has been besieged by Yunnanese and Cantonese troops, is vividly told in news from the Telegraph correspon- dent.

Aerial raids by Cantonese bombing planes have resulted in the killing of approximately two hundred innocent civilians, whole families in some instances being wiped out.
