HONGKONG TEAM DEFEATED.

LOSE TO SHANGHAI JUNIOR GOLF CLUB.

Shanghai, Sept. 5. The lawn bowls match played at Hongkow Park to-day between the Junior Golf Club and the Hongkong bowlers ended in a win for the local men, Hongkong losing by 11 shots to 29.

D. McAlister (Skip.), There was sunshine this afternoon when play started. The Hongkong bowlers found the ground very heavy, as the result of the recent rainfall. The Junior Golf Club team were, the better side.

The teams were all square at the sixth head, and Hongkong stood 7 to 8 at the eleventh,

Then the Shanghai men forged ahead, Hongkong being only 8 to 18 at the nineteenth.

The sixth annual meeting of the Kowloon Golf Club was held in the Y.MIC.A., yesterday, when Mr. D. C. Wilson presided.

In addressing the meeting, the chairman sald that they could safely say they were satisfied with the sound and strong position of the efab. The membership had increased and now totalled 210, which included a

number of new members.
