The incident took place at the wharf at Pakkai, Kongmoon, at 7 am. on the 18th, when he dis- embarked from the 8.8. On Lee. According to his statements to the police, his losses amount to $8.600.00 in drafts issued by the Sincere Co., while othere issued by the Wing On Co., amounting to 84,000 and 38,000, were also includ- ed in his looses. The rest were all in notes. Besides this his other losses" include passbooks of the Na- tional Commercial & Savings Bank issued by their Singapore and Hongkong offices.

Apart from the search of these on the wharf, the police also had all the junks lying in the hart gur thoroughly examined on the day the matter was reported, but neither the culprits nor the morics have yet been
