MEETING OF PREMIERS DRAWS UP PLAN.

Melbourne, Aug. 21. A conference of State Premiers at which Mr. Scullin, though, presided yesterday, and which Sir Otto Niemeyer, representing the Bank of England, attended, passed the following resolutions:

Secondly, the Loan Council shall not raise further overseas

loans until the existing short term in- been completely

The prosecution alleges that the man called at the shop on August 5, and by mentioning the name of a number of trades-people well- known to the goldsmith, was able to gain confidence to the extent that he was entrusted with a quantity of jewellery with the view to sale on behalf of the shop.

The defence (represented by Mr. Horace Lo) yesterday disputed the evidence of the expert, while "de- claring that the goldsmith had ac cepted the bangles in exchange for the goods taken away by the de-, fendant.

Fifthly, the Commonwealth and State Treasurers shall publish monthly, in Australia and over seas, a uniform summary of the budget and revenue expenditure, the position of the short term debt, and the state of the loan account.
