PIRACY IN BRITISH WATERS REPORTED.
A piracy in British waters has been reported to the Water Police by the master of a fishing boat, which is said to have been attacked, while on its way from Nam TAU to Lung Ku, by a party of about ten men in another fishing boat, about 9.20 p.m. on Saturday.
"It is Used in Books,”
Invited by Mr. Mead (the magis trate) to give the exact words. Hoare replied: "I said twice, “I think it is-disgraceful."
"No, but I did because the cir- cumstances warranted it," retort- ed Mr. Hoare.“·
"Nothing warrants foul lan- guage from a gentleman," com- mented Mr. Mead.
"It is in a lot of books and a lot of plays," urged Mr. Hoare.
"What's that to do with it?” demanded Mr. Mead. "Do
you take your conduct from books and plays?"
3
It was suggested that the in- cident arose out of a mistake, and was unintentional, and after conference. Mr. Powell's solicitor withdrew the summons, stating it was brought by Mr. Powell to vin- dicate his character.
According to the report of Tsung Yung, the master of the pirated fired three shots over his vessel. vessel, the official number of which He became frightened and swam is 4440C, he and three fokis were ashore, from where he could see his the occupants of the boat.
