His Excellency thanked the Directors of the Po Leung Kak for their welcome and said he had wanted to inspect this Institution, of which he had heard so much. There were similar institutions in Malaya, but they were official ones, whereas the Hongkong Po Leung Kuk, like the Tung and other hospitals, was mainly maintained by the private funds of the Chinese community.
