NEW TERRITORIES CRIME.

REPORT ON THE NORTHERN

DISTRICT.

The report on the Northern dis- trict of the New Territories for the year 1929 states:

The District had practically a clean record as regards serious crime, only one case being com. mitted to Sessions, and there dis- missed.

The number of police cases show- ed a corresponding decrease, 477 against 484 In 1928. The total number of persons brought before the P.M. was 633, against 802 In 1928.

Among these cases again, there was an increased number of traffic summonses 208 against 188, so that these figures probably constitute a record in the annals of the District.

The Drought.
