Kenneth Hawks, who directed "Big Time" for Fox Movietont, studied dramatics and play construction at Yale University from which be gradunted just before he entered the World War as a member of an avintion unit. After the armistic was signed, he went to the Pacific Coast where he had been identified with motion pictures ever since.

Before he signed a Fox Movie- tone contract he was identified with Cecil B. De Mille and the Famous Players-Lasky Studio as a produc- tion supervisor, in which capacity he handled such well known players as Bebé Daniels and Raymond Griffith. Hawks is married to Mary Astor, the widely known screen ac- tress.
