SUMMARY ISSUED OF THE CONVENTION.

Shanghai, May 5.

The Convention for the rendi- tion of Weihalwel consists of twenty articles with two annexes, and an agreement.

The first article announces that the territory of Weihaiwei, in- 1cluding all the islands in Weihai-

wei Bay, are hereby returned to China. The second abrogates the 31899 lease; while the third states that the British garrison shall be withdrawn within a month of the enforcement of the Convention.
