CHANGES IN CANADA'S TARIFF.

Washington, May 8. The Canadian Tarl changes have evoked much comment in Congress circles. The Republicans construe Canada's action as a threat to influence Congress in handling the Tariff Bill, which is now being discussed. The Democrats contend that high American tariffs inevit- ably led to retaliatory measures by foreign nations, and affected the 'country's foreign trade.

Mr. Crisp, a member of the Ways and Means Committee of the House of Representatives, declares that when the new American tariff la enacted other nations will retaliate, -Renter's American Service..
