KAYE DON'S FIRST RUN AT DAYTONA.

The above picture shows the "Silver Bullett" as it shot over the Daytona Beach at 172 miles per hour. This was, Kaye Don's first trial run, when a broken petrol pipe stopped further attempts for the time being. Although other runs were made afterwards, the actual attempt to beat Sir Heury Segrave's record was abandoned for somewhat mysterious reasons. The beach was said to be too bumpy, while other reports hinted at friction between Kaye Don and others connected with the trials. Even on the run snapped above, the air- plane was quickly overtaken.
