the
This "village" represents adjoining parishes of Great and Little Abington, two of the oldest villages in England, picturesquely situated on the Abington Hall Estate, eight miles south-east of Cambridge.
They are mentioned in Domesday. The Manor of Great Abington, which, in the reign of Edward the Confessor belonged to Wulwin, a noble Saxon, was one of those given by William "the Conqueror to Aubrey de Vere.
Thatched Cottages. All the cottages in the twin vilinges are thatched, and the pro- perty now offered for sale includes ist of them. The remainder were sold recently, together with the school, schoolhouse and inn, at Great-Abington.
Among the remaining parts of the village now in the market are the post office and the old smithy. The rents of some of the cottages. are under 18. a week, and few are more than 28..
