TEN, marriage and modes are the three
M considerations facing the Easter bride.
choosing her trousseau. She wants to look so beautiful that her bridegroom will be thrillingly proud of her. She wants her wed.. ding to spectacularly beautiful. She wants her clothes to be the latest ward in fashions.
In pleasing herself this season she is apt to achieve all three. It is essentially a season of varied beauty in fashions, and any bride can find gowns that will capitalize her charm. As for color, she will do well to remember the tones her prospective husband prefers and see that her trousseau includes some of them. There is a psychological advantage in impressing one's husband with a certain willingness to consider his taste!
This spring's bride is an elegant creature, stately, aloof, acons advanced in charm beyond last season's romping flapper. Svelt lines and more length to bridal gowns give her dignity and stateliness, most appealing on one so young, Trains, cut in one with the skirt of gowns, add a formality that sets her apart from the rest of her bridal party.
PRINCESS lines are very popular, or one may choose fitted bodices with high ar nor- mal waistlines or period wedding gowns that get inspiration from quaint gowns of 1880 or even 1830. Sleeves are long, or elbow length. with gloves meeting them.
As a reaction to an overdose of simplicity in the past few years, wedding gowns this year revel in lace. Lucky is the bridle who comes of a family that treatures heirloom lace in the form of Rose Point, Duchesse or other fire variety. Real Alencon is used in abundance,
too.
Lace yokes, lace trains, lace flounces, and lace cuffs are four ways this lovely lace is util ized. and of course face caps hold the sheer veils of tulle in place.
If one does not have lace for one's gown. necklines are apt to take some unusual shape, such as cowl cut, old-fashioned square necks. heart shaped or some particularly cut line to set off the particular bride's features.
Satin is spring's favorite material, with sheer ninon, lace, chillou, tulle or other fine fabrics second choice. Dead white may be the most becoming thing on earth to certain brides, but the majority will find one of the off-whites more enhancing. They run from deep parchment colored "old ivory" to pinkish bride's blush.
BRIDESMAIDS gowns are appropri
ately choses from some of the spring's lernoon models, so they can be worn
again with perfect propriety. Short sleeves are the newest single fashion feature of these, with the many- flounced skirt and high waistline of long ago very intriguing and pretty. Yellows and greens are the spring's avorite colors for bridesmaids, for
the church decorations go- ing with them can be all the fragrant spring flowers to carry out the season's idea perfectly.
If a bride is having a sim ple home wedding, she her

self should choose one of the afternoon frocks for the purpose. Chiffon, lace, net, even or gandie is used with smartness, If she is mar- ried in this type of frock, she should wear a little picture hat, rather than a veil. Expe- cially if she is married at home, this is seemly. FOR the church wedding. veils are mere,
varied than they have ever been. One may have a classic face frame of sheer tulle, unre- lieved by a single orange blossom, outlining the bride's face like a nun's. Or she may choose a little Dutch bonnet like a peasant's cap, of horsehair braid in white, with the veil falling out from under it. Or she may have a real Ince little cap, a silver or floral bandeau, a Juliet cap or a child's bonnet, with flared back front..
I. QUAINT and charming is a bridesmaid's ruffled frock of pale blue chiffon for the pink and blue wedding. It has charming grad- uated ruffles on the highwaisted skirt and a highwaisted sash ties in the back, in little girl fashion. The sleves are the very newest, little off-the-shoulder ruffles, with the shoulder peep- ing through. It is even length, just missing the floor, and just showing the attractive matching blue moire pumps, with jeweled ornaments.
The bridesmaid's hat is made of matching blue neora straw, with velvet ribbons making a bow across the back and streamers across the brim.
II. CHIC and very appealing is a little
Juliet cap of real lace with a half circle of fine silver leases and orange blossoms across the back, with the tulle veil falling out from under the sides and back.
III. FOR the bridal gown for a home wed-
ding, or for the maid of hoper at a church wedding, Bendel shows a graceful little bride's blush chiffon frock, with lace puff sleeves, a natural waistline and full skirt. Top- ping it is a rose straw hat, with its wide brim. lacy with open work. Sandals in brocaded mcite faster with a jeweled buckle on one side.
IV. FOR the stately princess bride. Henri
Bendel creates a classic wedding dress of parchment satin and Rose Point lace. It is cut on princess lines, fitted to the body ke a gleye, with a deep pointed yoke of the rich lace and a flounce of it that points up in front and falls to even ankle length, across the front and around the sides, where a long train, cut in one with the gown, sweeps out to its régal length, edged with the lace. Her classic white satin Fumps have bows of real lace.
Her veil is of the sheerest tulle, so that none of the exquisite beauty of the gown is hid, and it is dyed the exact tone of off-white that the gown has. It is held in place by a cloth of silver and Lanvin silk net cap.

V FOR the regal beauty of weddings this spring, bridal slippers have been created. One of the prettiest pairs is a Delman model, of white satin to match the gown, with the pat- tern of the gown's lace embroidered in fine handstitches to ornament the pump. The slen- der, high heel also has the embroidery, adding a luxurious touch.
