He chopped the ball with unerring accuracy on both hands, and throughout the game, excelled himself at the net, where he brought of some
magnificent angle volleys.
Lo seemed rather at a loss to deal with Fincher's spin shots, but his defeat was largely due to the clever way he was out-positioned by his opponent. It rendered the ex-champion's rallying work use-
less.
Lo's best effort came in the third set, where Fincher was lead- ing 5-3 and had reached match point. He made a mistake over a simple return, however, and Lo, taking his chance, forced the issue to finally capture the set at 8-6. It called for a great physical effort, and "M.W." was obviously suffering from its effects in the fourth set, for he could make no sort of fight afterwards. and The Handicap Doubles semi- finals were decided yesterday, when D. S. and S. E. Green and J. D. Humphreys and R. H. Wilds qualified to meet each other in the final, which is arranged for this afternoon.
The most was made yesterday after noon of the limited ground-space at the Military Hospital, when the R.A.M.C., small company as it is, held quite an interesting sports meet ing.

The most youthful combination in the tournament will be in action on the stand court this ofter-
noon, when J. A. E. Cassumbhoy and C. A. L. Rumjahn will meet H. D. and S. A. Rumjahn in the doubles semi-final. "H. D. and S. There should be little doubt of another win to-day, yet one must not lose sight of the fact welcome tea interval, and more that they are pitted against a couple gymkhana events, closed the pro who have proved themselves magni- gramme, and then the Assistant ficent fighters and brilliant players.
Gymkhana events resulted in Sgts Anderson and Wicks getting home rather easily in the wheelbarrow race; and a balloon race, which caused much merriment, was won by Pte. Roberts, with Pte. Barber second.
