LESS ACTING IN TALKIES.

BILLIE DOVE'S VIEWS ON FILM TENDENCIES.

Less acting, not more, is requir- |

ed in talking films than in the old silent pictures.

This statemèrit sounds strange when one recalls the predictions that certain film stars would be forced out of the business by the talkies because they couldn't act. And it still is a direct contradic- tion to the prevailing belief.

Nevertheless, it is the opinion of

asi Billie Dove, often described the most beautiful woman in pin-i tures. Billie is beautiful. There's no doubt of that. But she isn't dumb as most beautiful women are said to be. Her opinions on the: talkies certainly prove her ability to think for herself in view of the fact that she stands almost alune in them.

"I don't understand how people can think that talking films re- quire more acting than silent pie- tures did," declares Billie.
