The woman who goes visiting can't move in with a trunk, but a wardrobe such as this will answer the question of how she can be a credit to
her hostess at every moment
TOW that week-ending is as much of a habit as the summer vacation, the matter of the week-end wardrobe is being given expert attention by lead- ing couturiers, so that the pleasure of your holidays need not be marred by an unhappy or inappropriate choice of clothes and accessories.
The week-end wardrobe must start with smart luggage, and must include clothes, lingerie, accessories, and tuilet necessities for every social aceaston.
Illustrated today is a complete week-end wardrobe and accessories, worked out by Bergdorf Goodman, to assure variety and elegance, and take care of -practically any social emergency.
BEGIN with the week-end case itself--you'll notice it almost buried under the accessories. The bag is black leather, lined in black moire, with fittings of frosted silver.
Over one comer is a combination of flesh-colored silk trimmed with alencon lace applied with delicate French embroidery. A matching nightgown and slip, along with chiffon hose in light tones for evening and darker ones for day, falls over the opposite corner. Dangling over another is one of the new backless brassieres of lace.
You will glimpse also cases and bottles, for your favorite lotions, perfume, powder, gold mules, eight-button lengthy gloves, a bead and mesh bag, and some very effective paste jewelry, including a necklace, bracelet and earrings.
A MOST practical item is thus traveling suit, which includes an Eton jacket frock of pepper and salt unfinished worsted tweed. The collar, blouse and cuffs are of white silk pique. The lines of the fuck are unusually good with the closely-fitted hipline and the fullness starting at the knees achieved by skill- fully-tailored pleats, and the natural waistline and the smooth shouder line.
As accessories nothing could be starter than the Florence Walton beret trimmed with black and white feathers, and the bag of tiny black alligator. and the silver fox fur.
THEN, of course, you want an evening ensemble, and here is one that is just right, and will look like a million with your jewelry-it n of emerald green flat crepe, cut princess, with an adorable little coatee lined with beige crepe. The slippers are delightful-sandals of green brocade with modernistic inserts of gold kid, and a gold kid ankle strap.
LOVELY evening slippers, that may be worn with almost any type of evening gown are shown in black faille eilk with modernistic inserts of silver kid, and a dainty ankle strap. They glorify the simple black chiffon gown as nothing else can.
FOR general sports wear, the suit of knit tweed in a red mixture, with a sweater blouse in matching tones, is a wise selection. If necessary, you can wear over it a smart tweed topcoat, such as is shown, with a large collar of beaver-a friend in every spring wardrobe. The hat is in two shades of red.
THE week-ender will find a pajama cutfit much more practical than the negr ligee, which has more limited urefulness, because pajamas are now worn for' ten, and even for informal dinners at home.
The one photographed is particularly appropriate because it is not bizarre or extreme, and is obviously designed for a lady. It is developed in 'red flat crepe, with very wide sleeves and wide bell trousers. The pajamas are in a one-piece overall model that is carefully fitted on the princess line, and buttons with a row of ball buttons and bound buttonholes.
The coat is sleeveless, with a Peter Pap collar, and three little bows tie it across the front to stress the insistent feminine note. With this are worn gold, square-toed mules.
