While the ferry Man Keung was on her way from Hongkong to Shamshuipo last night, a Chinese woman, who was travelling third- class, was seen to throw herself overboard.

The incident happened off the A.P.C. installation at Taikoktsui. Upon an alarm being given, the ferry was stopped and a search made, in conjunction with No. 5 Police Launch which happened to be in the vicinity.

No trace was found of the woman, and it is believed that she was drowned.

A radio message was received by the Water Police in Hongkong at 2 o'clock this morning from N.Y.K. steamship Tango Marú, which reported that she had picked up an S.0.S. from the Alabama Maru, stating that she was aground at Lat. 35.44 and Long. 140.52 E., which is south of Yokohama.
