THREE BURIED.

VERANDAHS CRASH IN

QUEEN'S ROAD.

An accident which could casily have turned out far more serious, occurred yesterday afternoon, when all the verandahs of two houses in Queen's Road Central collapsed. Fortunately, nobody was killed, but three Chinese are now in the Government Civil Eos- pital suffering from more or less Berlous injuries.

Aid for Injured.

A number of men from the Indian Division of the St John Ambulance Brigade, a few sailors and others rushed to the scene' on hearing the crash, and were the first to render assistance, An A.B. from the H.M.S. Kent did very valuable work in clearing away the debris, and with the assistance of others, extracted a man within five minutes.
