Tragio scones were witnessed in the Chinese Olty at Shanghai a fow days back, when five new houses and shops suddon- ly collapsed and buried the occupants in the ruins. Roscue parties were organized and worked feverishly to save the victims, but six persons were found dead and 20 were extricated from the ruins seriously injured.
