Tin has been irregular. The statistics published yesterday, showing an increase of 2,524 tons in the total visible supply, were if anything rather worse than had been expected, but the immediate effect of their publication was to some extent more than counter- acted by reports that a certain number of producers in the FM.S. had definitely agreed to a moderate restriction of output'during Jan/Feby. Prices therefore, after a weak opening yesterday, re covered quite sharply but the advance failed to bold, the market roacting to-day under the influence of a little selling and Equidation, buyers at the same time showing a little more reserve. Sales In the East during the week amounted to 1,175 tons; shipments thence for the present month are estimated at 9,000 to 9,500 tons. Premiums on Straits and Banka Tins dre quoted at £2, and £8.
