A charge of being in possession of three forged Hongkong and Shanghai Bank notes of the value of $100 each was brought against an unemployed Chinese before Mr. Whyte Smith at the Kowloon Magistracy this morning.
His Worship asked if the notes were good or bad imitations and on inspection intimated that, being of such a high denomination as $100 he did not know much about
them.

Police Sergeant R. McEwen and his wife were involved in a most regrettable accident Christmas Eve, as a result of which Mrs. McEwen had to receive attention at the Kowloon Hospital.
From an official report it appears that Mei Sai On, the second fores- ter of the Botanical and Forestry Department, was being driven in a police car along the Talpo road and when near the five mile stone, came into collision with Sergeant McEwen, who was driving a motor cycle combination in the opposite direction...
