The rocant statement that Carnera bocaine a naturalíand Frenchman on Juno 23 gave the fight national in- *terest throughout the whole of France.

-Reuter.

The Fight Described.

'The match between Stribling and Carnera was one of ten rounds and not fifteen. The unhappy incident at the Albert Hall recently was repeated, Carnera being disqualified for door- ing Stribling with a low right hook after the gong had gone in the seventh round.

The referee ordered Carnera to go. to his corner amid excitement. Car- nera's seconds clung to his wrists and dragged him to his corner where he struggled for several seconds with an intensely ferocious look on his face. Carnera said he had not heard tho gong in the pandemonium which followed after the blow.

Carners was completely outclassed· and was unable to connect his pun- ches. On the other hand, the Ameri- can fought strongly and repeatedly landed his left and right to the stomach and face.

By the sixth round Stribling had piled up enough points to win even if he had lost the remaining rounds, le staggered the Italian with a

a right to the point, but was unable to land the finishing blow,-Reuter.

[Carnern weighs twenty stone and.

in his first meeting with Stribling,

he won on a foul in the fourth round

of the contest. The match took pince at the Albert Hall on November 18.]
