As a spectacle; the gume pro- duced little to enthuse over, though naturally considerable interest was taken in the showing of the reconstructed Borderers team. Reeves proved himself constantly dangerous and Martin's form generally suggested that Reeves might be spared from left, back. Skiggs Is à player who seems capable of iltting himself into any position, and he did exceedingly well, though I imagine he must give way to Stock when the latter is fit again. Everest held his own against Brown and Beltrao, while Davey always' had Razz-Pereira in complete subjec tion. Gear did not impress at left- half, though it must be barne in mind that he was opposed to the Recreio's most dangerous raider.

H. Remedios, A. A. Remedios and B Gosano were the only Recreio players to do justice to themselves..

Athletic Mach Too Good For St. Joseph's.

The result of the match between St. Joseph's and the Athletle was Within five never in doubt. minutes, Suen had given them an opener, and before the intercal, Tso Kwal-sing and Suen had in- creased the advantage. The second half was desultory, the Chinese indulging in pattern-wear- ing, to the delight of the gallery which they had set themselves out! to entertain. Rocha's goal suc- cumbed only once more, Suen Kam-shun getting his best goal with a powerful drive.

South China's apparent forward weakness was largely due to the splendid display of the Kowloon half-backs. They broke up all South China's attacks relentlessly, partly by judicious tackling and partly by clever anticipation. There was a real understanding in the oline, too, which probably made 0 them appear even better than they were. Dowman particularly is to 4be congratulated on. settling flown

Kowloon's victory over South China must have surprised these who had not seen the mainlanders running steadily into form. Yet on the day's play there was no comparison between the two teams. Kowloon's, all-round superiority was more convincingly illustrated than the margin of two clear goals would suggest; indeed, with a lit tle luck and a little more punch in the centre, and they would have credited themselves with the big- gest win of the day..

The Modern Method Of Fighting Malaria.

Every day many germa of dis. ease enter our bodies, but they are made harmless and passed off if the fighting forces of the body are in good condition. Rich red blood is the power that keeps the huma D system"in order...

When the blood is pure and strong malarial germs cannot gain a grip therein. If malaria is pre- sent the way to permanently expiel it is by building up the blood, thus enabling it to overcome and destroy the malarial parasites. It is because they do exactly this— purify the blood, strengthed the blood, make new, rich, red blood at every dose that Dr. Williams* Pink Fills are famed in every country where malaria exists.

For example, Mr. W. Fernando, of Arcade Building, Colombo, Ces lon, states: "Two...years ago. I suffered from malaria for avail months, and failed to find any cure until I tried Dr. Williams' Pik Pills. These Pills drove the malaria out of my system altd restored my strength and appetite, for which I am very grateful."

And Mr. S. P. Abeyasinghe, Station, Master at Slave Island, Caylon Government Railways, reports:-"Ambanpola, where I was station master in 1914, is" a malarial district, so whilst there, as a preventative measure, I took Dr. Williams' Pink Pills. Not only did I keep well through taking Dr. Williams' Pink' Pills, but I put on weight. I can certainly say from my own experience that they are splendid blood tonic."

For

years Dr.. forty Williams' Pink Pills have been
