PREPAREDNESS ON A JUNK.

MASTER IS ALL READY FOR BATTLES.

TOO MANY · CANNONS.

Charges of being in possession of a cannon without a permit and of having on board his junk 30 pounds of gunpowder were brought against a boatman before Mr. T. S. Whyte Smith at the Kowloon Ma- gistracy this morning.

The defendant pleaded guilty to both charges.

Detective Sergeant Humphreys said he boarded the junk yester- day afternoon on Information re- ceived and concealed under the floor boards he found the cannon and gunpowder. The defendant was licensed to carry two cannona but the one found was in excess of the number authorised.

more serious than the first.
