It is stated that a widow from the country, by the name of Chan Mui, living in the village of To Kau, in the Tungkoon district, was persuaded to come to Hongkong with her three young children. She was accompanied on the trip by another woman, who, assuming the role of a guide, was still with her when they arrived here and crossed over to Kowloon on B ferry launch, Upon landing, on the other side, the other woman, who was leading one of the children, disappeared with the boy, and was not to be found in spite of a frantic search carried out by the mother.

The police now have the matter in hand. A description of the woman and of the missing boy, has been circulated.
