A sensation has been caused on the Bourse and in banking circles, by the news that two of the biggest German banks, the Deutsche Bank and the Disconto Gesellschaft, whose capitais are respectively on hundred and fifty million and one hundred and thirty-five million marks, are negotiating with a view to amalgamation.
