YOUNG CHINESE KIDNAPPED FROM HOME.
An alleged attempt to dispose of a small boy who was kidnapped In Portland Street, Yaumati, was described by Sub-Inspector James before Mr. T. S Whyte Smith at the Kowloon Magistracy yesterday afternoon when a Chinese was charged with enticing the lad away from his parents.
The defendant admitted that he took the boy Away but went on to tell a long story of the jad's father having asked him to take the boy.
Sub-Inspector James sald that on September 9 the boy was playing outside his house at No. 314, Port land Street, Yaumati, when the de fendant approached him and asked him to carry some firewood for a contractor. The defendant, took the boy, to Hongkong and later iwent to a steamer which was bound for Macao.

A murder which has puzzled, the police inasmuch as the motive has not been discovered, was in- vestigated before Mr. A. W. G. H. Grantham at the Central Magistracy yesterday afternoon.

Proceeding against Hung Ah- mol, a Fukienese, on the capital charge, Mr. Somerset Fitzroy the Public Prosecutor, said that it was a rather extraordinary case...The. accused arrived here from Singa Fory on August 25, and accepted the invitation of a boardfur house runner to stay in premises occupied by the Ynen Mel firm, which did a business as forwarding, agents for travelling traders from the country. Indian Woman's Case.
An Indian woman named Sophin Mohammed, and Luk Ng, charged with kidnapping a 14-year-old Chinese boy named Wong Tai-hau' from the home of his mother, Chan Ma-yee, 555 Canton Road, Kowloon, on September 19, and Cheung Shan, a farmer of Lan Hang, Taipo, who la charged with harbouring, appear ed again at the Kowloon Magis tracy yesterday.
