THE S.S. TAIYUAN LAUNCHED AT TAIKOO.
An Interesting launching took place on Saturday at Talkoo, when the now 8.8. Taiyuan took the water. The vessel bears an interesting name. A ran for many years on the Australian run. The new Taiyuan. is, however, intended for the coastal run and has been constructed to the order of the China Navigation Company She is the first of a new class of vessels designated the class, to
distinguish them from the well-known and popular "S" class. She will be engaged on the Shanghai-Canton run, and it is hoped to have her on the run about the beginning of December.
The Taiyuan is 325 feet in length, with a beam of 45 feet and depth moulded to upper deck of 24 feet. 9 inches, currying a deadweight of about 3,300 tons on 19 feet draft. The vessel is built on the deep framed tem and has LWO complete decks The Bcantlings of

On Friday Rauter cabled from New York reporting the formation of what is claimed to be the largest bank in the world, with resources estimated at G$2,500,- 000,000 with the amalgamation of the National City Bank of New York with the Corn Exchange Bank and Trust Company.
