A new Public Works Loan to cover the cost of big develop. ment schemes on which the Government is embarking, or hus already begun, is foreshadowed in a number of resolutions which will be submitted to the Legislative Council on Thursday by the Hon. Colonial Secretary (the Hon. Mr. W. T. Southpru, C.M.G.),

The estimates of expenditure for 1930, an abstract of which has been made available this morning, reveal that heavier outlay ander nearly all heads is contemplated.

The Medical Department is estimited to cost the Colony $230,000 more than last year, and $192,000 more than the actual expenditure for 1927.
